HISTORY

This photograph of the Hastings Soldier’s Memorial was taken in 1929 when the new foreshore was opened. The Western Port can be seen in the far distance.

DESCRIPTION

This photograph shows a memorial standing in the middle of the image behind a brick, stone and chain fence which runs the full width of the photograph. A tall electricity pole is on the right-hand side and buildings can be seen behind it in the far distance. A tree stands to the right of the memorial. Bare ground is seen on either side of the fence.
