HISTORYThese ladies are taking part in the grand opening celebrations of the National Australia Bank at Hastings. Rosa Stockton, the lady on the left of the photo was one of the bank’s original customers. She is Geoff Stockton’s mother. This information is written on a sticker on the back of the photograph, along with ‘courtesy Beryl & Geoff Stockton’.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows two women standing in front of a large cake. They are both holding a knife, tied with a red ribbon and are ready to ‘cut the cake’. The cake is iced in white with red writing and decoration. The writing reads: ‘Grand Opening Celebrations September 1st 1986 National Australia Bank Hastings’.
