HISTORYThis chimney stack is in the process of being demolished because B.P. Oil Refinery at Crib Point closed down. Written in black on a piece of white card at the bottom is “..going....”. Printed in silver on the mounting board is “D.M. Thompson Collection”. For more details on the stack, see P493
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows a tall chimney stack leaning to the left after blasting. Thick grey smoke is swirling around its base. Six workmen are standing watching with their backs to the camera. They are all wearing blue pants, red long sleeved shirts and red helmets. The words “Able Blasting The Master Blaster” is printed on the back of their shirts. Part of a building can be seen on the far right-hand side. A white vehicle is on the left-hand side along with a tank on a trailer. A man is sitting on the top of the tank taking a photo.
