HISTORY

This photograph is of the BP Refinery plant at Hastings in the Western Port. It became a major industry and a second major port for Melbourne in 1966.

DESCRIPTION

This aerial photo shows an industrial site on a shoreline. There is an industrial plant with several large tanks. A long bridge leads out onto a very long pier. A crane can be seen to the left of the bridge. Several boats are in the water. A town can be seen on the left-hand side of the image. Trees and paddocks are in the background.
