HISTORYThis postcard is one of several from the ‘Rose Series’ taken on the Mornington Peninsula. It shows a dirt road at Mount Martha. Printed on the back is: “Post Card The “Rose” Series De Luxe Produced in Australia Published By “The Rose Stereographs” Armadale, Victoria”. A rose has been stamped in the centre.
DESCRIPTIONThis postcard shows a winding dirt road climbing a hill. Native trees and shrubs are on either side. A bank is on the left-hand side and the land slops down to the water on the right-hand side. A wooden foot bridge is in the foreground on the left. Printed across the bottom of the postcard is: “The Rose Series, P. 2074 Copyright The Beach Road, Mount Martha, Victoria”.
