HISTORYThis photograph was taken outside the Administration Office of B.P. Refinery at Crib Point.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows a large group of approximately thirty-one people standing watching a man raise a white flag. Printed on the flag is: “Award of Merit”, a partly visible symbol and a map of Australia inside a circle. The man raising the flag is wearing a long sleeved white shirt, tie, dark trousers and a cap. Most of the men are wearing suits. There are only two women in the group. Shrubs are on either side of the flag pole. A two story building with white posts is behind the group. The walls of the top floor of the building are made up of long glass windows. A tall pole with a light and fencing can be seen to the far left of the image.
