HISTORYThis is a photo of the pier at Hastings and is one of a series of postcards from the Rose Series taken on the Mornington Peninsula. Printed on the back is: “Post Card A Real Photograph Produced in Australia”.
DESCRIPTIONThis postcard shows a woman, dressed in a dark overcoat and a light coloured hat, walking along a pier towards the sea. She has her back to the camera. Boats are on either side of the pier and a railway track is running down the centre of the pier. Four white electricity poles line the right-hand side of the pier. Land and trees can be seen in the background. A pipe railing runs the full length of the pier on the left-hand side. Printed across the bottom of the postcard is: “The Rose Series P. 10373 Copyright Looking Along the Pier, Hastings, Vic”.
