HISTORY

This photograph is four generations of the Thompson family and was presented to the Shire of Hastings Historical Society Inc. upon Douglas Maxwell Thompson’s resignation of Honorary Secretary and Public Officer on 05/03/1995. It is ‘The Grannies Night’ photo of 1977. The names are from left to right: baby Fluer Hitchcock, Mrs Florence Olive Thompson (nee Unthank), wife of Percy Douglas Thompson, Douglas Maxwell Thompson and Gaynor Anne Hitchcock, (nee Thompson). Douglas Maxwell Thompson was the first President of the Shire of Hastings.

DESCRIPTION

The elderly woman is wearing a white cardigan over a dark printed dress. She has grey hair pulled back and is wearing spectacles. The man is sitting between the two women and he is wearing a stripped shirt. The younger woman on the right is wearing a short-sleeved light coloured cardigan, buttoned up, over a dark dress. Her hair is pulled back. Windows with orange curtains are in the background.
