The cottage has a four post verandah across the front, with a set of windows on either side of the front door. A large chimney and two sets of windows are on the side of the cottage. A small lean-to is at the back which has small trees and a water tank. Two more weatherboard buildings can be seen behind the lean-to. There are three women and two young girls on the verandah. The girls are dressed in white pinafores. The woman on the left is dressed in a black dress with a white collar. The other two women, one sitting and one standing, are wearing white blouses and black skirts. There is a post and wire fence along the side of the property which has a small gate on the left-hand side. Grass is in the foreground. Two fingers and two coins are holding the photo down at the four corners.
