HISTORY

This photograph was taken in September, 1985 and is the Safeworking/Parcels Office at the original Hastings Railway Station.

DESCRIPTION

This image shows an office in the foreground with a doorway leading into another office. There is a large red machine on the left-hand side of the room. A set of scales are sitting on a stand in the centre of the image and a large picture is on the wall above it. Written across the bottom of the picture is: “go relaxed by rail”. Other objects and papers on clip boards are around the walls. Drawers and cupboards are on the right-hand side of the door way and part of a jacket can be seen hanging on the wall in the foreground, on the right-hand side. The view into the next room shows the right arm and shoulder of a person. Cupboards a papers clipped on the wall are in the background. Printed across the bottom of the photograph is: “Safeworking/parcels office at the original Hastings Railway Station. September 1985. A10. 04”.
