HISTORYThis house was at the corner of Bayview and the Frankston-Flinders Road in Old Tyabb, which is part of Hastings. It was the home of the Edwards Family. The photograph is from the W. Walker Collection.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows two women and one small girl standing on the four post verandah of a double gabled, weatherboard house. A window is on either side of the front door and a small cane chair is sitting next to the door. Two sets of windows are along the side of the house and another small window can be seen on an extension at the far right-hand side of the house. Finials are on each of the gables and the word “Wrexham” is printed on a board between the gables. Both women are wearing long black skirts and long-sleeved white blouses. The woman on the right is wearing a large white hat. The girl is wearing a white pinafore. Tall trees can be seen behind the house and untidy grass is in the foreground.
