HISTORY

This is a photograph of Hastings taken in 1947. The double gabled building is the Hastings Fruit Supply building. Frank Kippe ran the Fruit Supply. The buildings beside it are Bert Taylor’s original garage. Coolum Island, now Sandstone Island is seen in the background. This photograph is from the Fred Bryant Collection.

DESCRIPTION

This image shows a township taken from an elevated position. There is undeveloped land in the foreground and houses in the middle of the image, set amongst the trees. There is a large double gabled building with a striped awning in the centre with a street running in front of it. Trees are in the foreground and water can be seen in the background. Land can be seen in the far background.
