HISTORYThese men are ready to depart the Western Port Marina at Hastings for Plus 1989 Heritage Week trip to Long Island Point to recover 40 pound shells. Doug Thompson is the man with the white hair.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows seven men standing and sitting in a boat, moored at a jetty. Three men are on the left-hand side of the boat and four men are on the right-hand side. The man at the centre, dressed in green is smiling for the camera. All men are wearing jackets. The men on the left are wearing black, yellow and green jackets and the men on the right are wearing green, black and check jackets. The man with the check jacket has the word ‘sweathog’ on his pants in large white printing. Equipment is on the floor of the boat in blue containers. Five poles on a frame for holding fishing rods can be seen. The word ‘HASTINGS’ is printed on the stern of the boat. Several boats with large masts are on the right-hand side of the image.
