HISTORYThis is the Royal Hotel, now known as the Western Port Hotel. It is the oldest surviving hotel in Hastings. It is from the Doc Littlepage Collection.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows the back of a building which consists of two sections. A tall white section with a tiled roof, two chimneys and six windows is on the left-hand side and a low, brick, tiled roof section is on the right-hand side. A man, with his back to the camera, is walking under a small lean-to attached to the brick building. A small door with the word ‘gents’ is on the left of the lean-to and two pot plants are at the front. A ladder is standing against the building. A truck, with ‘Hastings Hotel Pty Ltd’ is parked in the foreground.
