HISTORYThis is the double wedding of Daisy and Ellen Peterson. They were married at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Hastings. Daisy married Adolph Peterson (an unrelated third Peterson family living in the Welshpool and Foster area) and Ellen married Chas Norris. The brides parents were Peter Eric Peterson and Mary Celena Thompson. They also had a brother Joseph Andrew. The names of the wedding party are as follows: left to right: unknown, unknown, unknown, brother, Adolph Peterson, Daisy Peterson, Peter Peterson, Ellen Norris, Chas Norris, George Norris, Ethel, Miriam, Mabel”. DESCRIPTIONThis image shows a wedding party consisting of eight women and five men. The two brides appear to be dressed identically in knee length dresses, long sleeves, high neck with small collars and elbow length veils. They are both carrying very large bouquets and a horseshoe. An elderly man is standing between the brides. Two men are on either side of the brides and three bridesmaids are on either end of the group. The men are all wearing three piece suits and the bridesmaids are wearing knee length dresses with three quarter length sleeves. They are wearing black shoes with a strap across the top. A motor vehicle is behind the group and a dog is sitting at the front, on the left-hand side. Two trees can be seen in the background.
