DESCRIPTIONThis image shows an elderly man sitting behind the wheel of a racing car looking at the camera. He is wearing a light coloured coat and a battered hat. He has a pipe in his mouth. The car has a spare wheel attached to the side of the car and a rucksack is attached to the wheel with a leather strap. A galvanized iron shed is behind the car on the left-hand side of the image. Signs can be seen along the side wall of the shed including the word ‘shell’. A small tank at the front of the shed also has the word ‘shell’ painted on it. Two tall trees and other buildings can be seen the background and gravel is on the ground in the foreground.
