HISTORY

This is the Hastings Basketball team and the photo was taken at Albert Park where they entered into Country Week. The girls names are as follows: l to r: Janet Baker, Isla Baker, Lorraine Fisher, Margaret Crawford, Delwin Slocombe, Margaret Slocombe and Pat Edwards. Absent from the team was Valda Fisher. The names of the girls is printed on the back of the paper.

DESCRIPTION

This image shows a group of seven girls in a basketball uniform posing for a photo. They are all standing side-on with their left hand resting on the girl in front of them. The first girl is holding a basketball with “Hastings” printed across it. Their uniforms are light coloured short dresses with white collars, a blazer, a cap and white socks and sandshoes. The pocket on the blazer reads: “Hastings Basketball Club”. People and motor cars are in the background. The photograph has been glued onto a piece of white paper which has ‘Hastings Basketball Team’ printed across the top in pencil.
