HISTORY

This ketch is the ‘Myrtle Burgess’ and is at Fisherman’s Jetty at Port Welshpool, Victoria. Its details are as follows: “71 ft in O.A./60 ft.W.L. x 16 ft in x 7 ft 3 in draft One Gardener 4L2 Marine Diesel engine Builders/date Purden & Featherstone Hobart Tasmania 1917 Designated 015-19, Medium Supply Launch RAAF. Redesignated 016-6 General (large) Launch, December 1944. Transferred to New Guinea. Declared for disposal by 1st Tactical Air Force C/c N.O.I.G., Labuan British Borneo 5th December 1945 (Disposal list no Air 689). Sold to British Borneo Civil Administration Unit prior to 10th January 1946. Model Built by John Woolley and Ron Bryant 1987-89.”

DESCRIPTION
