HISTORY

This is the Armstrong 40 lb gun No. 272 which belonged to the Hastings Battery of the Victorian Rangers. The gun was returned to Hastings from Colac and this photograph shows the gun being unloaded at 9.30 am on Christmas Eve 1998, at the Hastings Shire depot for safe keeping until a suitable restoration site is found. The gun is now on display at the Hastings-Western Port Museum.
