HISTORY

This badge was one of a collection of badges and medals collected by Mrs May Cochran and consists mainly of memorabilia associated with the Great War (W.W.I) and commemorative events in the early twentieth century history of Australia and Victoria. It would have been sold to raise funds for the war effort and to promote support for conscription in World War 1.

DESCRIPTION

Circular shaped badge with a tin concave shaped back with a metal pin. Front of the badge is decorated with two flags - one the Australian flag and one the Union Jack. Both flags are red, blue and white on a white background. The print reads " Vote yes" and is in red and printed in front of the flags. The lettering "Oct 28 1916" appears between the two flags and is in small blue print.
