HISTORY

City of Prahran Red Cross badge of 1917. This badge was one of a collection of badges and medals collected by Mrs May Cochran and consists mainly of memorabilia associated with the Great War (W.W.I) and commemorative events in the early twentieth century history of Australia and Victoria.

DESCRIPTION

Circular brass badge with 4 rectangular additions to form the shape of a cross. Badge is gold with a blue outer ring and rectangles are red. Front has embossed coat of arms with lion and unicorn, and 4 scrolls with words "Dieu et mon droit - spectemur agendo". Blue outer ring has words "City of Prahran Red Cross 1917".
