HISTORYFirst official scales used for weighing babies at Hastings Bush Nursing Hospital, opened in 1930. Brass plaque screwed to the scales reads "Presented to the Hastings & District Bush Nursing Hospital by the Flinders Naval Depot in grateful appreciation July 16th 1936"
DESCRIPTION6.1 - Set of beige coloured enamel scales with circular weighing tray at one end and a 3-pronged brass measure at the other end, with sliding brass weights on each prong.
6.2 - Cane basket, oval, and concave in shape. The cane has been painted cream.
