HISTORY

Used in Campbell's General Store in Hastings, Vic. from about 1895 for weighing groceries.

DESCRIPTION

Set of scales with a cast iron base, pedestal and arms. One end has a circular cast iron and brass tray suspended from three chains, the other has a three- pronged holder with a shallow brass bowl. Stamped on the base are the words "W & T Avery to weigh 11 lb.
