HISTORY

An item from the steamer Coramba, lost with all hands near Seal Rocks, Phillip Island, on November 29th, 1934. This item, probably a light cover, apparently destined for part of the Melbourne Centenary celebrations, was one of many washed ashore on Phillip Island the following day.

DESCRIPTION

Pointed cone-shaped decorative light cover in six sections, made of vellum stretched over metal frame. The vellum sections are alternate colours of cream and blue. The frame is painted white.
