HISTORY

Harry Rust worked as a groom and horseman on various properties in Victoria in the 1870’s and 1880’s. He was the father of Ruby Rust, later Mrs Ruby Barclay, and was later to become caretaker of the Royal Agricultural Showgrounds in Queensland

DESCRIPTION

A handwritten reference by W. Cruickshank for Harry Rust, who worked for Mr Cruickshank as a horseman. Dated Ballarat, 3rd April 1882. In the top right hand corner is a stamp containing the words “Forster’s George Hotel Ballarat”.
