HISTORY

In 1904 the Hastings 40 Pounder Battery together with the Victorian Rangers transferred to the Australian Army and became known as the 6th Battery of the Australian Field Artillery. The 40 pounder guns were replaced with 12 1/2 pounder field guns and two were sent to Hastings. Presumably this shed was designed to house the new guns.
