HISTORY

This is Alice Lothian’s (nee Bryant) house in Skinner Street, Hastings. Alice was the daughter of William Charles Bryant and Mary Ann Monoghan. She was born in 1890. This photograph was copied by Dr Bruce Bennett for the purpose of research or publication.

DESCRIPTION

This image shows a side-on view of a timber home with a galvanized iron roof. A four post verandah stretches across the front. A large window is along the side of the house and a lean-to is at the back. Part of a brick chimney with a television antennae can be seen on the roof. A tall paling fence is at the front of the house and a panel of lattice fencing is along the side as well as a timber fence which has partly fallen over. A tree is on the footpath and thick trees are on the left-hand side of the house. Part of a bitumen road and untidy grass is in the foreground.
