HISTORYThis is the Pioneer Cottage which is part of the Hastings-Western Port Historical Society complex. It was built in 1900 by the Stanford Family and moved to its present site on the corner of Herring and Skinner Streets in 1985 and restored by members of the Society.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows the front of a timber cottage. Two windows are on either side of the panelled front door. A small verandah is across the front held up by three posts. A lacy wrought iron trim surrounds the verandah posts. An empty garden bed and a brick pathway are in front of the cottage. A sign is attached to the front wall which reads: “Shire of Hastings Historical Society Project”.
