HISTORY

Augustus and Annie Haebich settled at “Stanton” Bittern early in the nineteen hundreds. He was a butcher who travelled the district with horse and cart, selling his meat. To make ends meet Annie ran a boarding house in the large dwelling. In 1960 Annie (Gran to all) eventually moved and the farm was taken over by her granddaughter Dorothy Turner and grandson Ray Haebich. Much respected, Annie lived to 104 years of age” On the back of the image is handwritten in ballpoint and pencil “ANNIE HAEBICH” “89th birthday - September 11th 1965.
