HISTORY

Augustus and Annie Haebich migrated from Germany and settled at “Stanton” Bittern early in the nineteen hundreds. He was a butcher who travelled the district with horse and cart, selling his meat. On the back of the image is handprinted in ballpoint “August Haebich the lady could be Annie Haebich. Haebich’s served the local area as butchers with these horse drawn carts in early 1920’s or earlier. Bittern Victoria” “Donated by Merle Haebich”
