HISTORYThis store was on the corner of Marine Parade and Salmon Street in Hastings. The Hastings Public Library now stands on this site. The shop was previously owned by Miss Reid and was a busy, popular shop specialising in “spiders” - lemonade and ice cream.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows a motor car parked at the front of a general store. The store has a set of windows on either side of the front door and a three post verandah across the footpath. Signs on the building include Coca Cola and Peters. A high wooden fence is on either side of the store and an older building with a brick chimney is directly behind the store.
