HISTORY

This is the Hastings Shire Council Building. The Shire of Hastings was constituted in 1960 and the new Council met in the Hastings Hall until the Shire Offices were erected in 1963.

DESCRIPTION

This image shows a two story brick office building with a man, dressed in a suit walking towards the footpath. The building has many windows across the front and side and a single story section joins on right-hand side. A lawn is across the front of the building with a stone retaining wall. A footpath is across the front of the image. A round plaque is attached to the front of the building. Printed across the bottom of the photograph on a white border is: “The Rose Series P.14876 Copyright Administrative Building, Hastings, Vic.”.
