HISTORY

The original Hastings Swimming Pool was officially opened on 19 November, 1938 by Mr McKenzie, Engineer with the Post Master General’s Department and the County Roads Board. The three metre diving well was built in 1939.

DESCRIPTION

This image shows a swimming pool in front of a tiled roof, brick amenities block. Swimmers are standing and sitting beside the pool and a few people can be seen in the pool. Two boys are standing on a diving stand in the foreground. A tall pole with a light attached is beside the steps leading into the pool.
