HISTORY

The name of the man and the date is written on the back of the photograph in black ink: “Mr A. Main Oct 3rd 1901”. Alec Main was born in 1879. His parents were John Main and Jessie Dick. Alec was a well known fisherman in Queenscliff. His father and his four sons were also fishermen.

DESCRIPTION

This portrait shows a young man, taken from the waist up. He is dressed in a three piece check suit, white shirt and striped tie. His hair is neatly parted on the left side. He has a watch and chain attached to his waistcoat and a handkerchief hanging out of his left coat pocket. He is looking away from the camera. Printed on the mounting at the bottom is: “C. Anderson, Photo Artist”.
