HISTORYThis is a portrait of Mr John H. Barclay taken when he was 30 years of age. He was born in 1883 and died in 1971. He was the son of John Barclay and Rosina Grayden. He was not married. Stamped on the back in black ink is: “J.H. Barclay 26/7/13”. Also written on the back in black pen is: “To Thomas”.
DESCRIPTIONThis is a portrait of a young man, taken from the chest up. He is dressed in a dark coloured three piece suit, white shirt and tie. He has a mop of dark wavy hair, side burns and a thick moustache and beard. He is turned slightly to the side and is staring away from the camera. The photo is oval shaped and has an ornate mounting. The photographers details are stamped in blue at the bottom: ‘Yeoman & Co Bourke St. Melbourne’.
