HISTORYThis is Jack Barclay. He was the oldest nephew of Jim Barclay. Jim Barclay (1870 - 1918) was murdered at Wonnangatta Station on Victoria’s high plains in 1918. His murder was never solved. The following is written in blue ink on the back of the mounting board: “To Tom & Ruby with love from Uncle Jack 28/8/30” An embossed outside cover surrounds the photograph.
DESCRIPTIONThis is a studio portrait of a man, taken from the waist up. He is wearing a dark coloured, double breasted suit, white shirt and striped tie. A white handkerchief is in his left pocket. He has thick, wavy partly grey hair, beard and moustache. The photographers details are stamped on the mounting.
