HISTORYThis Fish Shed, situated at the commencement of the Hastings Jetty, was built in 1866. It played an important part in the local fishing industry. It was restored in 1988 and then became a retail fish sales venue. The restoration project was carried out by John Woolley, Doug Norton and Bill Patience. All work was voluntary.
DESCRIPTIONThis is a photograph of the Hastings fishing shed with the jetty to the right. The sign on the end of the building reads: “Circa 1866 Hastings Jetty Fish Shed”. A post is on the right-hand side of the jetty with a caution sign and a street light. Boats can be seen on either side of the jetty and large tanks are in the background.
