HISTORY

This marker was placed by Alice Maud Mary Perrott’s grandson, Albert E. Perrott, on the tree known as the “Perrott Tree” on the foreshore at Hastings. It was planted by Alice to mark the coronation of Edward VII in 1902.

DESCRIPTION

This image shows a metal plaque attached to stone. The plaque reads: “Shire of Hastings Historical Society Marker No. 5 Cypress Lambertiana planted in 1902 by Alice Maud Mary Perrott of Hastings. Local residents were encouraged to plant trees that year to mark the coronation of Edward VII. Marker placed in 1985 by her grandson Albert E. Perrott”.
