HISTORY

There are several lines of writing across the back of the photograph in a foreign language, possibly Russian. The date ‘5 Mar, 1941’ is stamped in purple. Another circular stamp is also on the back of the photograph.

DESCRIPTION

This image shows a portrait of a young man, taken from the chest up. He is looking at the camera and has a broad smile on his face. He has a thick head of neatly combed black hair. He is wearing a heavy black overcoat and has a white scarf around his neck. He is of European appearance. There are two rust marks on the left-hand border.
