HISTORY

This is the naming plaque for the BP Refinery at Crib Point. Printed on the back of the photograph in red ink is: “BP Refinery Western Port Crib Point. Naming plaque this was later mounted on brick wall behind which was front wall of admin. building. Date on plaque 21/october 1966”.

DESCRIPTION

This image shows a circular plaque at the centre of a board which is attached to a frame. It stands in front of a brick wall. Part of a flag can be seen is hanging behind the board. The following is printed on the plaque: “BP Westernport Refinery opened by Sir Henry Bolte K.C.M.G. Premier of Victoria 21st October 1966”. Two blue biro X ARE IN THE TOP RIGHT-HAND CORNER. A GREEN X IS IN THE TOP LEFT-HAND CORNER. The left-hand edge of the photograph has been roughly cut.
