HISTORYThe fishing shed on the Hastings jetty was built in 1866. It played an important part in the local fishing industry. It was restored in 1988 and became a retail fish sales outlet.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows three men leaning on a railing beside a small shed. They are all smiling for the camera. The man on the right has his left hand on the top of his hat. The board on the front of the shed reads: “Circa 1866 Hastings Jetty Fish Shed Restoration 1989”. Part of a jetty, water and tanks can be seen in the background. The following is printed on the right-hand side of the photograph: “Hastings Jetty Fish Shed Restoration Project Financed by Bill Patience The Third. Work undertaken by Bill Patience John Doug Norton’.
