HISTORY

This is the Hastings Swimming Pool. Construction commenced in December 1937 and the pool was officially opened on 19 November, 1938. Printed on the back of the photograph is: “ Velox 4 14”.

DESCRIPTION

This photo was taken looking down the six lanes of a swimming pool. The amenities block is on the right-hand side of the pool and seating is on the left-hand side. A tall wooden light pole is on either side of the pool. The tall masts of boats can be seen in the background.
