HISTORY

This was the post office in Pike Street, (now High Street), Hastings. It was the third post office, built by Daniel Hoban and situated opposite the Hastings Hall. It was opened on 14 May, 1914.

DESCRIPTION

This image shows a small weatherboard house in the early stages of demolition. Part of the guttering is falling down and a high temporary wire fence is across the front of the property. A red sign is on either end of the fence. A garden bed of shrubs is across the front of the house and tall trees are behind the house. A footpath and street is in the foreground.
