HISTORYThese are the Hastings School children in 1935. The following is written on the back of the photograph: “Miss M. McKenzie C/0”. Stamped in blue ink is: “S.J.D. & A.C. Watt Saddlery Myers Road Merricks North, 3926”. The photographers details are also stamped on the back of the photograph.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows five rows of school children posing for a photo. There are seventeen boys in the back row, twenty boys and girls in the second back row, twenty boys and girls in the middle row, twenty boys and girls in the second front row sitting on chairs and nineteen boys sitting cross legged on the ground in the front row. A boy in the front row is holding the small blackboard which reads: “Hastings School 1098 - 1935”. Part of building can be seen on the left-hand side and tall pine trees are in the background.
