HISTORY

This is the start of a collection of photographs of the development of The Shire of Hastings by the Shire Engineer, J.T. Riley who was Shire Engineer from 1961 to 1988. This collection was compiled by N. Babington in September, 1995.

DESCRIPTION

This image shows two men, one sitting at a desk and the other leaning over beside him. Both men are wearing suits and ties. The man on the right is wearing spectacles and the man on the left is holding a pen in his right hand. A wall is behind them. Written underneath the man on the right is: “Shire Engineer Mr Jim Riley, above right, with Assistant Shire Engineer Mr Bob Hooper”. The names of the Officers and Personnel of the Engineering Department, Engineering Services, Town Planning Services, Building Services and Sewerage Authority also appear in the lower half of the image.
