HISTORYThe President and the members of the Shire Council of Hastings visited the B.P. Refinery on February 24, 1964 with Mr. C.E. Clarke, General Manager of B.P. Refinery (Western Port) Proprietary Limited. The ship is the oil tanker British Kestrel. The men on the jetty are: left to right: I.T. McKenzie of B.P. Refinery (Kwinana), L.A. Walker, Secretary Hastings Shire Council, R. Page, Hotel Prop. Hastings, D. Thompson, member of Hastings Shire Council and President of the Western Port Development Committee, G.D. Gorrie, President Hastings Shire Council, C.E. Clark, General Manager, B.P. Refinery (Western Port) Pty Ltd, J.T.Riley, Engineer, Hastings Shire Council, E.R.J. Oddie of B.P. Refinery (Kwinana). The photographer’s details are stamped on the back.
