HISTORY

This is High Street in Hastings on the Western Port. The photograph is taken looking west from King Street.

DESCRIPTION

This image shows a street with shops on either side. Motor cars are parked on both sides of the street. Overhead electricity wires cross the street. A man is walking on the footpath on the left-hand side. Some of the shop signs read as follows: “Fire Station, Butcher, Estate Agent, Auctioneer, Health and Bulk Foods”. Typed in black on a piece of white paper and glued to the bottom of the photograph is: “High Street, Hastings west from King Street”.
