HISTORYThis pool was on Marine Parade at Hastings beside the jetty. It was built in the early 1930s. The Pelican Park complex now stands on the site. “G431” is stamped on the back.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows an empty swimming pool with small buildings behind it. Water, the masts of boats and land can be seen in the far background. Part of jetty can be seen between the trees. A large gap can be seen between the pool and the concrete slabs. The following has been typed in black on a piece of white paper and glued to the bottom right-hand corner of the photograph: “Built in early 1930’s - Salt water Filled and emptied with the tide.”.
