HISTORY

This man is Jim T. Riley. He was the Shire Engineer at Hastings from 1961 to 1988. He rose to Colonel in the Army Reserve. These photos were taken at an Army Camp of the Army Reserve 1949 - 1967. Colonel Riley’s engineering skills would have been used here.

DESCRIPTION

These six photographs show a man in military uniform and five photos of men in military uniform taking part in building a wooden bridge over a river. They also show a group of men posing for a photograph on the finished bridge, an overturned vehicle in a ditch on the side of a road and vehicles in the river.
