HISTORY

This level crossing is at Bittern on the Frankston-Flinders Road. The service station belonged to Norm and Joan Jack which they built in 1964.

DESCRIPTION

This photograph, taken at ground level, is looking up at a railway crossing sign which has two traffic lights and the following signs: “Railway Crossing” and “Stop on red signal”. A second set of lights is on the opposite side of the road. A TOTAL Service Station is on the right-hand side of the image and a motor vehicle is approaching the crossing on the left-hand side. Untidy grass is in the foreground.
